Books from 1824 smell like ass
Published Sunday February 13th, 2005
I was bored again today. At around two, after having seen it online, I went to the Pleasant Valley Historical Museum. Located here or right before Visual Studios on Las Posas when heading east. It was kind of junky, but I still managed to kill two hours there looking at various maps of Ventura County as well as photos from this century. Was kind of interesting. I stumbled upon a news article in the Camarillo Daily News titled "Incorporation Day." It was an editorial which read, "Future generations of Camarillo residence will hold Sept. 29, 1964 in high reverence for that is the day on which their pioneering far-sighted ancestors gave birth to a new city. Sept. 29 will probably become known as Founders' Day or Incorporation Day or some similar designation. It will be observed in some special way because it marks the turning point in Camarillo's history. Uhm.. Anyone ever heard of the Camarillo Founders' Day? I sure haven't.. Nor did I know Camarillo was founded on September 29th.. Ha ha. I also found that in 1964 upscale homes in Camarillo cost around $18,000 and a new 1964 Mercury Marauder cost $2962.. Woot. Inflation.
I also discovered that books from 1824 smell like ass and contain a lot of incorrect information on where the North American natives came from. Was quite an amusing read. Heh.. Anyway, all of a sudden it was 16.00 and the "museum" was closing. I was shocked that I had spent two hours in a small little room with some random old lady and nobody else.
I left and drove to Newbury Park and went to the Santa Monica Mountains preserve/national park that is over there right below Mt. Bony. I strolled around some, found a suitable place, and Marco-style meditated while the sun was setting. There were a good amount of other people walking around, and for some reason they were speaking many various languages. I thought that was pretty cool, and it made me happy. Again, all of a sudden two hours had passed by with me sitting on a rock meditating. As I left, not so many people were around anymore and it was really quiet and peaceful as I walked back to my car. Was relaxing and very nice.
I drove home and realised that the past two day's I'd been having really good stick-days. That is.. Really awesome, flawless shifts in a manual car. I got home and dinner consisted mainly of pizza from Dominos, half of it was plain and the other a mix of pineapple and olives. I protested with silence and pouting.
After dinner I took a really hot, scalding shower which felt good as it burnt my body. Now I sit here and I'm bored again. At least I wasn't bored for 4-5 hours..
Heh.. Here comes week six of my first session at Brooks.. One more week and then I have a week with no school, and then my next session starts. Photo 102.. woo hoo. I can't wait until I get into the higher level courses. I'm really not a fan of Black and White photography because I have an obsession with things that are really saturated. Heh.. Yep.

Yep.

Reticulation is the cracking and/or warping of the film emulsion due to a change in temperatures during development. The effect causes the look of dramatically increased grain and strange striations and other effects.

I saw this today while driving to the bank. I ask you this: Wtf is that? Why would you buy this car? Why would you drive it around!?
I felt like chasing them down and telling them, "Hey.. Your car looks like SHIT! Whoever sold it to you got you good! I bet they're laughing so hard right now they're shitting themselves! Oh! One more thing. Take off that stupid ribbon sticker. Are you a christian republican who voted for Bush by any chance? Ha ha. You're a stereotype!"
...
Obviously, I don't really have much more to say. So I will conclude this entry shortly. One more thing: Woo hoo! On finally having more comment's than entries. Thanks for the comments! :) If you want to comment some more, but have nothing to say.. Give me suggestions on what to do with my time. ... Yes.... or.. something.. or.. bloo blee blaah...

You're lucky with those moments in the museum and park; I don't know if it was just fast time passing for you but usually those moments come with good insight on random things. And speaking of random things, we found somebody who hosts a local water tower in their backyard. That's gotta suck.

Marco, I am sure you would love a Sunday without any noise in the city. Oh, btw, we got snow here, and it's been snowing for two days now! Great!
