Three New Photographs!
Published Sunday May 21st, 2006
New photos! It’s been a while, but here are my latest prints. Last time the prints were DJ related, this time.. pretty pink flowers! Hooray for pretty pink flowers! Overall, I think this batch is of higher quality then the last time’s batch, with the exception of Gulgane.
The photos were shot here at home. We have a, what I think is, a peach blossom tree that I’ve seen every time that I’ve left home and thought to myself, “I should photograph that.” Now I finally did. The shoot lasted about an hour, and then another 6 hours were spent in Photoshop narrowing the 200 or so photos (saved as camera raw taking up about a gigabyte) down to just three and then fine tuning them. At least I had something to do on my Saturday.
Shot using my heavy duty built-for-large-format-4x5-camera tripod shooting almost into the sun. Used a makeshift reflector made of aluminium wrapped around a large print-mount board to fill in some light on the flowers so that they wouldn’t silhouette. Photoshop modifications include the usual fine-tuning of colours, hues, saturation, contrast, shadows, colour temperature, and so forth, as well as the removal of distractions like ugly twigs and splotches.
Like I said the last time, hopefully there will be more photos soon.. But we’ll see how that goes..
